Why we built DeFi Gateway

DeFi Gateway exists to make decentralised finance affordable and understandable. We do the research and custody work, then show you exactly what it cost.

Our Story

Charles Johnson started DeFi Gateway after watching friends in Glasgow pay layer upon layer of charges to reach staking and lending protocols, often without seeing where the money went. Platform fees, gas costs, spreads and wrapper charges stacked up, and the statements explained none of it. He wanted a firm that did the hard technical work once, shared that cost fairly across clients and wrote every charge down in plain English.

So that is what we built. From our office on Victoria Road we pick validators, screen protocols and manage vaults for investors who want DeFi exposure without running their own wallets and spreadsheets. You get a single account, one set of reports and a person you can ring. No guesswork.

Fiona leads portfolio construction across our index funds and vaults, writing the rules that decide what we hold and when we rebalance.

Portfolio Manager, Staking

Ewan runs our staking products, choosing validators and spreading delegations so no single operator carries too much client stake.

Hamish Duncan

Portfolio Manager, Vaults

Hamish manages our lending and liquidity vaults, watching pool health and collateral levels so positions can be adjusted quickly.

Priya Nair

Head of Risk

Priya sets exposure limits across every product and reviews protocols and counterparties before any client money is allocated to them.

Callum Reid

Head of Custody

Callum oversees how client assets are stored and moved, including cold storage procedures and multi person approval for withdrawals.

Compliance Officer

Siobhan runs client onboarding checks and keeps our policies on identity, record keeping and financial crime prevention up to date.
